Life and love - Jane Austen's famous first novelSet against the idyllic backdrop of 18th century Britain, Sense and Sensibility follows the contrasting fortunes of the impoverished Dashwood sisters - pragmatic Elinor and impulsive Marianne - as they navigate the treacherous waters of society to find love. Austen's wit and sharp social commentary illuminate the constraints of class and gender with a subtle irony, while at the same time her classic novel, written when she was only 20, remains a charming and delightful read to this day. -From one of the most famous English authors ever: Jane Austen's first novel Sense and Sensibility!
