C2 PROFICIENCY SPEAKING TEST The C2 Proficiency Speaking test is designed to assess the oral proficiency of candidates at a C2 level (mastery). It comprises three distinct parts, each testing different aspects of spoken English in various contexts: C2 Speaking Part 1 This introductory part involves a conversation between the examiner and the candidates. Candidates are asked personal questions about familiar topics such as their interests, experiences, and opinions, requiring highly sophisticated language use consistent with a C2 level of mastery. C2 Speaking Part 2 In this part, candidates are given a set of photographs related to a common theme and asked to discuss them collaboratively. They must exchange opinions, compare options, and work together towards a joint decision, demonstrating their ability to interact naturally and fluently at the highest level. C2 Speaking Part 3 In this final part, each candidate is given a card with a question and supporting ideas and asked to speak at length for approximately two minutes. This is followed by a brief comment from the other candidate and then an extended discussion on the same theme, in which both candidates are expected to express and justify complex opinions, speculate, and engage in in-depth analysis of abstract issues.
