A beautiful representation of The Book of Ruth—a compelling, intentionally designed story on inclusion, loyalty, love, redemption. This book is the story of an implausible pairing: a widowed Moabite woman and an older Jewish man. Through their story, we’re reminded God moves and works in radically inclusive ways, often bringing those on the margins to the center of the narrative. As we read the text, may we reflect on our own stories, cultures, and traditions, and consider the invitation: to welcome those on the outside, to unequivocally behold them as our own family, to see everyone as kin. Alabaster’s approach reimagines the entire experience of the book. Incorporating images that illuminate the themes and messages of the text, this book will help the reader engage scripture in a fresh way. The Book of Ruth in the New Living Translation (NLT) is great for Bible studies, church groups, or individual devotional times. Alabaster creates with the reader in mind—including careful use of negative space, legible typefaces, and layouts that allow a thoughtful exploration between text and images.
